These are the rules for the UT Pre-Alpha 5on5 iCTF Winter League 2018 Europe. We make every effort to ensure the rules are complete and up to date but this may not always be the case. You should also check the Info Page and News for additions, exceptions and modifications that may apply. The rules are a guideline and the decisions by admins may differ from them depending on the circumstances. If you have any questions about the rules, please write a support ticket.

1. iCTF League Ruleset
1.1. League Structure
An open to all Swiss Cup to establish divisions for participants. After the Qualifications, teams will get locked, which means no roster changes will be possible.
1.1.2. Group stage
2 skill divisions were created where Division 1 includes the best teams in the game. Default match times are Sundays evening while you can reschedule match until next Thursday (enter the Match Setup on your match page). Possible scores are 2-1 and 2-0 but admin can enter different score if needed.
At ESL, a team gets 3 points for a match win and 0 points for match loss. Score difference isn't taken in regards to point distribution. However, manual points distribution will be created because of complex scenarios with map draw result. In these cases we will look at the flag caps done by the teams if they have the same point. The team with the most flag caps will proceed into playoffs. That manual distribution will consist of 3 points for a map win and 1 point for a draw, additionaly divided by number of played maps in the match.
Matches are played Best of 3, while first two maps don't have overtime but 3rd map has overtime to determine a clear winner.
1.1.3. Playoffs (due to change)
Playoffs will be played in a Single Elimination cups. Top 4 teams from each group and division will be paired into each division playoffs.
Playoffs are played best of 5. All rounds must have overtime on.
2. Map Pick/Veto
If maps aren't already set in the Cup Quick Rules on the ESL website or on your match page, the map pick/veto is used there, under contestants. Rules are as follows:
- A contestant starts banning
- Contestants take it in turns banning maps until the number of maps needed remain
- Contestants take it in turn picking maps until one map remains
- Maps are played in the order they were picked, the remaining map is played last
3. Match rules
Matches "best of" is defined in the cup info page. Default for most cups are Round 1 is Bo1 while rest of the cup are Bo3.
Every HUB or Server with Replay recording on, maps from the map pool and mutators stated in match settings can be used. However, matches should always be played on recommended Hubs. In case one of the competitors wants to play on another Hub and if there is no mutual agreement, one of the recommended Hubs must be picked. Else leave a comment in the match on which Hub, that is not part of the recommended Hubs, you play on. Reasons for playing on recommended HUBs are admins can track matches easier, simpler live coverage and finding your opponent already in game. Recommended HUBs:
- (ESL) any
- UnrealPUGs any
Spectators are allowed only if both contestants agree. Exception to this rules are ESL admins and people that are explicitly allowed to observe by an admin (e.g. shoutcasters or streamer).
Players should only allow spectators they trust. It is not allowed to protest after a match to complain about spectators that were allowed in the game.
3.2.2. Illegal Actions
Any actions that result in an unfair advantage are illegal. This includes bug using of any kind.
3.2.3. Possible Pre-Alpha Bugs and Glitches
Due to the "Pre-Alpha" nature of the game, a player may request a rematch if a bug or glitch occurs that affects the outcome of the game. A player must prove that the outcome of the match was affected by the bug, either by using demo evidence, shadowplay or some witness regarding the event.
4. Match media
All match media (screenshots) must be kept for at least 7 days. In general, you should upload the result screenshot from a match to the match page as soon as possible. Faking or manipulating match media is of course forbidden and will result in severe penalties. Match media should be named clearly based on what it is. It is not possible to file a protest or write a support ticket to complain about bad match media naming. However, if an admin is hindered in their work because of bad match media names then it can be punished for. Both players are responsible for uploading the result screenshots of the match to the match page as soon as possible after the match.
Demo recording is mandatory for all ESL matches. Every match must be played on server/HUB with replay recording on.
5. Penalty Point Catalogue
In general, a player and the team can receive up to 6 penalty points per match, unless a single violation has a higher punishment. A team is only punished once per violation, regardless of how many players. Where a player or team receives penalty points for multiple violations, the penalty points are added together.

Matches get only deleted if the team/player violating the rules won the match. In cup and league matches default wins are given instead of a match deletion and penalty points.
