What is South East Europe Championship?
The ESL Southeast Europe Championship is a multigame eSports competition for the geographical region of Southeast Europe organized by the ESL. Its purpose is to foster the competitive scene in the region by enabling the gamers from different countries to compete and increase their skill and receive visibility, while providing high-quality and region-relevant entertainment for the fans.
The official language of the championship is English. We are aware of the fact that this might cause inconvenience to some of the teams and players who are not fluent in English, but due to the specifics in our region, there is no other viable option.
The total prize money that we offer in the last stage is 5000 EURO. Besides that, for LoL and WoT, there are some in-game prizes for the national qualifiers and group stage! You can see below the breakdown of prize money per game:
The system of the ESL South East Europe Championship is based on two regional qualifiers with a national final! Only the top4 players/teams from each qualifier will get into the final national qualifier. The top X participants will qualify for the main round, where X is the number of slots for the given game and region (see the table below for info).
In the main round, we will have 16 participants in each game, divided in 4 groups of 4 each. Each group will be played as a double elimination bracket where only the top2 from each group will advance into the last phase of the championship: The Play-offs! The Play-offs will determine the final standings and the winners of the ESL South East Europe Championship.
The Play-offs will be streamed by the ESL top talents from the studios in ESL HQ in Cologne.
