Please create a support ticket if you'd like to report a player, an incident or another critical situation.

3. Match rules
3.1. In-game
3.1.1. Player drops
If a player drops during the game for any reason, the race will continue without him.
3.1.2. Host drop / disconnection
If the player that dropped was the HOST and the race was stopped because of him, he will no longer be able to join the race and the race will be re-hosted with a new host, under the following conditions:
- Players will continue from the lap where they were left before disconnection
- Players will play a time qualifier so that they have the same position (rank) before disconnection
- If any player does not respect this rule, he will be disqualified.
If the Host disconnected on purpose, the following penalties will be given:
- interdiction of hosting any other races in Go4
- 4 penalty points
3.1.3. Pausing the game
If a player pauses a game they must state the reason for the interruption and how long it will approximately take. The game can only be resumed by the player that paused the game after they asks their opponent if they are ready.
Violation of this rule are handled as unsportsmanlike behavior and can lead to the disqualification of the player that paused the game.
3.1.4. Observers
Observers are allowed only if both players agree. Exception to this rules are ESL admins and people that are explicitly allowed to observe by an admin (e.g. shoutcasters or streamer). Under no conditions is it allowed to play with referees other those decided by an admin.
Players should only allow observers they trust. It is not allowed to protest after a match to complain about observers that were allowed in the game.
3.1.5. Match media
All match media (screenshots, demos, etc) must be kept for at least 14 days. In general, the host of the race should upload the match media from a match to the forum as soon as possible. Faking or manipulating match media is of course forbidden and will result in severe penalties.
3.1.5.1. Demos/Replays
The host of the game is responsible for uploading the replay of the match to the forum as soon as possible after the match. The replay file should always show the names above the player cars.
4. Incidents
We in general define a incident, when two or more cars collide, regardless of the outcome.
There are four simple categories in which we divide the incidents into:
- Common incidents
- Critical incidents
- Intentional Incidents
- Other actions
Explanation of each category can be found below, as well as the penalty point system, including the penalty point catalogue.
4.1. Common Incidents
Common incidents are incidents where two or sometimes more cars collide, resulting in one of it being sent off-track, receives minor or mild damage, loses a position or other unfair disadvantages.
4.2. Critical Incidents
A critical incident is defined as the moment where two or more cars collide, resulting in two or more cars being sent off-track, receiving mild or heavy damage or are unable to continue the race due to the incident.
4.3. Intentional Incidents
Creating a race incident on purpose will have intensive consequences. The penalties for this are given depending on the incident and may vary, but at least a disqualification from the tournament and a 2 week exclusion from all tournaments are given.
4.4. Other penalty worthy actions
- Dangerous driving: Rejoining the track in a dangerous manner, or driving in a way that is a danger to other drivers, is defined as dangerous driving. That includes driving zig zag, blocking a driver more than once when defending i.e. changing your racing line more than once, or not giving other drivers enough space on track.
- Qualifying: If you are on an in- or out-lap, you have to let faster cars pass you without blocking them.
- Resetting your car: During the race, you should not use the 'Reset to Track' button (in case you have it assigned) except in extreme circumstances. For example if your car is laying on the roof.
4.5. Restart of a race
A race restart is possible under specific circumstances, for example, but not limited to it, if 50% of the players crashed in the same incident.
Furtheremore, if a restart is being made because of a crash or similiar, the driver who caused the crash will not be allowed to participate in the qualifying session for the restarted race, and therefore starts on last place. This is part of the punishment for creating an incident.
A restart of a race will always be decided by the Admins, and not the players. Ignoring the decision of the Admins may lead to a penalty.
4.6. Additional
As this is racing, there sometimes will be incidents which we deem as Race Incidents. These are incidents where no driver is at fault, and therefore a penalty is unnecessary, and won't be applied to either of the drivers.
Do mind that we will review every reported incident, and if we think it was a Race Incident, we will inform the players about that.
4.7. Project CARS Specific Penalty Catalogue
This catalogue is used as a orientation for users, and doesn't necessarily apply. Penalties may vary depending on the circumstances.
- We reserve the right to disqualify a player from a race, if we think this is necessary.
- Time penalties may be used for special cases, when we think a disqualification, a barrage nor penalty points are the right solution.
- Incidents created due to lag / connection issues will be punished the same way as normal incidents. It is your responsibility to have a stable connection to the server.
Rule violation | Penalties |
---|---|
General | |
Common Incident1 | Ranging from a warning up to 3 Penalty Points In extreme cases 4 Penalty points + 1 week barrage |
Critical Incident | Up to 6 Penalty Points Or up to 6 Penalty Points + 1 or up to 4 week barrage |
Intentional Incident | Disqualification from the race 4 or up to 6 Penalty Points + 2 or up to 6 week barrage |

Special Case | |
Special Case | Time penalty Ranging from 5 to 45 seconds |
4.8. Reporting Incidents
We support clean and fair racing, but we are not able to spectate every race, and therefore can't see every incident. Because of that we want you to report every incident you are involved in, so that we can punish the culprits, to ensure clean and fair racing!
4.8.1. Requirements for a punishment
The following requirements need to be fulfilled. Otherwise, we will not be able to accept your complain and thus we will dismiss it.
- After the cup, you have 48 hours to send your report via Support Ticket. If you send the report after this period of time, we're not obligated nor are we able to handle the case.
- You have to attach a video of the incident.
- The video needs to show the names of the drivers, oherwise we can't find out who is at fault and therefore can't punish the culprit.
4.8.1.1. Punishment Reasons
Punishment reasons can be found on the ESL Player Profile, just above "Recent matches". If it's missing, and you want to know why you got a penalty, then please open a support ticket.
5. Casting
Casting an ESL match is only allowed with an ESL admin agreement. To get an agreement please write a Support ticket.
5.1. Personal Streaming
Personal Streaming is always allowed if ESL TV is not casting a match. If ESL TV is casting a match, is personal streaming not allowed without an admin agreement. Personal Streaming of a match shown by ESL TV, without permission from an ESL admin, can lead into a disqualification of the team or ban of the streaming player in the tournament.
6. Penalty points
6.1. Penalty Point Catalogue
In general, a player and the team can receive up to 6 penalty points per match, unless a single violation has a higher punishment. A team is only punished once per violation, regardless of how many players. Where a player or team receives penalty points for multiple violations, the penalty points are added together.
