In October 2007 the ESL Gaming Client, which later was named ESL Wire, was announced. In April 2008 the ESL Wire Open Beta followed with many iterations and changes along the way until finally in August 2009 ESL Wire 1.0 was officially released. With the sunset of Aequitas, and it's planned successor Aequitas 2 in October 2010, ESL Wire also became home to the new ESL Wire Anticheat technology.
