1. Game settings
You need 5 Players per Team. 1 designated Monster Player and 4 designated Hunter Players. You are allowed to switch active Players with substitutions who are already in the team by the time the cup or the Match starts. Matches (Team A Hunter vs Team B Monster and Team B Hunter vs Team A Monster) will be played simultaneously.
1.2. Match process
1.2.1. 1. Team gets an opponent
1.2.2. All Matches must be played Bo5, except the Final (Bo7)
Each Character can only be used once per Series (Bo5/Bo7) - Each team can only use a Character (Hunters/Monsters) once per match. So for example if team A uses Markov on Map 1, then they cannot pick Markov on Map 2 or for the rest of the series. If Team B uses Goliath on Map 1, they cannot pick Goliath on Map 2 or for the rest of the series. Adaptations count as separate characters, so Meteor Goliath and Goliath are two separate picks in a series. The character pool does not get reset for the Tiebreaker, so keep in mind which characters are used early on in a series and plan your strategy accordingly.

1.2.3. 2. Match/ Hostright
The Monster Player has always the right to host, if he is from North America or from Europe. If it happens that a NA west coast team plays against a European team the teams must search for a NA east coast host/ caster.

1.5. Tournament System
All matches till the final: 4 Matches (Bo5)
2 as Hunter and 2 as Monster
First team, who wins 3 rounds wins the match.
Final: 6 Matches (Bo7)
3 as Hunter and 3 as Monster
First team, who wins 4 rounds wins the match.
1.6. Same Overallrounds/Draw
Tie breaker round of Evolve - each team gets one of two advantages. The higher seed team picks one and the opposing team gets the other.
·Choose if you are going to play Monster or Hunter side.
·Choose to ban 1 Monster or 2 Hunters(1 per class) from the other teams roster after your opponents have chosen a side.
Lets run through an example scenario:
''In the previous two rounds, Monsters won both games (as Kraken) and now our teams are tied.
We are the higher seeded team so we can either choose to pick the side and secure the monster, in which case the opposing team will ban Kraken and we'll be forced to play with Goliath, Wraith or Behemoth. Or we can choose to ban and and remove opposing team's Kraken.
Considerations such as, "Is our Goliath better than their Hunters?" or "Are our Hunters better than their Goliath?" come into question. It gets even more interesting if the Hunters won the previous rounds or if different Monster species won the previous rounds.''
1.6.1. Player drop
If a player drops before 30 seconds are played starting when the Monster has loaded, the match will be restarted. After the 30 seconds the disconnected player has try to rejoin the session.
1.6.2. "Take a break" - option
It is forbidden to use the "Take a break" option. If this will be used the enemy team will get a default win.
Certain agreements between participants are allowed to slightly differ from the ESL rules. Agreements that differ greatly from ESL rules are however not allowed. Please note that the ESL rules were made to ensure a fair match for all participants. You are not allowed to file a protest after the match if you think that the agreements made before the match in the end resulted in a disadvantage for your or your team.
Rules that can be changed with agreements are explicitly stated. Rules that do not explicitly state they can be changed by agreement, cannot have agreements made.
All arrangements between participants, made in addition to the ESL rules have to be written down in the match comments. The other participant has to confirm the arrangements also in the comments. To avoid abuse of the edit function, a third comment must be written.
Please also keep screenshots and/or logfiles of your arrangements. If you do not fulfil these requirements, any protests or supports concerning arrangements will be rejected.
The following rules may never be changed by arrangement:
- Entering results for matches that have not been played
- Allowing players to play that are barred because of penalty points, or are barred in a league due to a ban
- Allowing players to play that in leagues with premium requirement that are barred for not having Premium
- Allowing players to play without ESL Anti-Cheat
- Allowing players to play with a wrong gameaccount
Following arrangements need the agreement of both participants:
- Change of map, after the map has been entered
- Use of unallowed equipment (it has to be written down clearly, what is allowed)
Note: arrangements as such can not be a condition to play a match.
2.2. Player drops
The waiting time for a dropped player is 15 minutes. If the player or a substitute rejoins the server and both teams are ready, the game can be resumed.
2.3. Change of player
Players may be changed during a match but the opposing team has to be informed in advance. This change may not take more than 5 minutes, and should only be performed at side or map change, not halfway through a side (with the exception of a player drop). Should the change take longer than 5 minutes, the match can be continued without the full team and the player can join in the running game. The new player must be a part of the team and may not be barred.
2.4. Illegal actions
Any actions that result in an unfair advantage are illegal. This includes bug using of any kind.
2.4.1. Match abort
If your opponent should deliberately leave during a match, you must make a protest. You must not enter a result yourself. This may be penalized as entering a fake result. Should the game have advanced to a point at which an evaluation of the result is possible, a win may be granted to the remaining team. The decision whether a match can be evaluated or not is in each case decided by the responsible Admin.
A ringer is a player, who is playing a match for another player. In special cases there may be barrages up to four weeks. Fakes are matches which haven't been played correctly (e.g. a match has been lost on purpose to gain the opponent more points). Such actions are illegal and will lead to penalties.
The use of any cheat is illegal. Players caught cheating will be penalised with 12 penalty points and a 2 year barrage (plus, if necessary, 6 additional penalty points for the team account).
2.4.4. Illegal programs and modifications
Each game or controls configuration, graphic or display modification that can’t be done through the ingame options menu is not allowed. All changes of the game’s graphics and/or textures with graphic card drivers/other tools to change the graphic configuration or such programs are strictly forbidden and lead to 6 penalty points or a cheating barrage depending on the severity. Programs allowing strong advantages (e.g. software overclocking, boosting) are also strictly forbidden and lead to 6 penalty points or a cheating barrage depending on the severity. The responsible admin decides, if the match is going to be rated or not.
2.4.5. Scripts and macro usage
All scripts, macros and changes to the game's configuration are not allowed, unless they are specific allowed by this rules. Programs and macros that provide an advantage during game play (e.g. drivers that allow the removing of walls, single shot macros, etc.) are forbidden. Any programs that change the game itself are forbidden. The following results are listed to clarify some of the not allowed macros/scripts:
- No Recoil or Recoil Control Macro/Script/Configuration Modification
- Single Shot Macro/Script
- Aim Assist/Aimbot through Config Modifications/Programs/Macros/Scripts
- Auto reload Script/Macro
- Auto Revive Script/Macro
- Auto Spotting Script/Macro
3. Penalty point catalogue
3.1. Penalty Point Catalogue
In general, a player and the team can receive up to 6 penalty points per match, unless a single violation has a higher punishment. A team is only punished once per violation, regardless of how many players. Where a player or team receives penalty points for multiple violations, the penalty points are added together.
