Last change: 08.10.2017 14:45

These are the rules for the Crossfire 1on1 Christmas Cup 2017 Europe. We make every effort to ensure the rules are complete and up to date but this may not always be the case. You should also check the Info Page and News for additions, exceptions and modifications that may apply. The rules are a guideline and the decisions by admins may differ from them depending on the circumstances. If you have any questions about the rules, please write a support ticket.

1. Matchmedia

All match media (screenshots, demos, etc) must be kept for at least 14 days. In general, you should upload the match media from a match to the match page as soon as possible. Faking or manipulating match media is of course forbidden and will result in severe penalties. Match media should be named clearly based on what it is. It is not possible to file a protest or write a support ticket to complain about bad match media naming. However, if an admin is hindered in their work because of bad match media names then it can be punished for.

Violations will be punished with 1 penalty point. The screenshot must show the final scoreboard of a map.

1.1. Screenshots

A screenshot of the on-screen results must be made of every game that is played. The screenshots must be uploaded onto the page with the match details as soon as possible after the game has ended. One screenshot showing each result (e.g. per half or map) is needed and can be uploaded by either the winners or the losers. Non-existent screenshots lead to the assumption of a so-called “fake match”, a match that never took place. The screenshots must be uploaded within 24 hours after the match.

1.2. Replays

Any party is obligated to upload one replay from each map within 24 hours after the match.

1.3. Missing replays & Screenshots

Will lead to a match deletion if no protest/support ticket is made to explain the missing matchmedia.

2. Player settings

2.1. ESL Anticheat

ESL Anticheat is mandatory for all players to use for the full duration of all matches without exception. If a player cannot use ESL Anticheat then they are not allowed to take part in a match. If the website is down, making ESL Anticheat unusable, then the match must be postponed.

2.2. MOSS

MOSS (Monitor Overclock status - and Screenshots). This new tool combines the EOS Overclock monitoring with Random Screenshots to provide you with a secured ZIP of match activities, of course ESL Wire usage is still mandatory and handles the anti-cheat part.

MOSS is mandatory in all supported games and their ladders and cups

MOSS has been created by nohope92. MOSS doesnt have any special prerequisite and should work on any type of PC or any Windows generation. MOSS doesnt send any information on Internet neither it shares anything with third parties. MOSS is in no way linked to 'Turtle Entertainment GmbH' or the Electronic Sports League.

2.2.1. MOSS How To Use

Here we have a small tutorial, what the necessary steps are to make MOSS work with your game:

MOSS can be downloaded under this address: nohope.eu

Download MOSS from link above Unzip or start it MOSS has to be started as "Administrator" to run correctly Start the game with ESL Wire In MOSS go to Capture/Start At the end of game go to Capture/Stop MOSS logs are located on your Desktop in MOSS folder, the ZIP is dated from date and GMT time you started MOSS Upload the ZIP in match media

2.2.1.1. MOSS Settings

Each player is responsible of using the correct settings. Playing with wrong settings may lead the user to 1 Penalty Point added to his account, the responsible admin will decide whether to rate or delete the match. It's up to the players to check their opponents' archives and open a match protest if something weird is present in screens.

MOSS must be configured as follows: - Paremeters: Crossfire - Capture frequency: 2

2.2.1.1.1. MOSS Version

The most recent version of MOSS has to be used for monitoring.

2.2.1.2. MOSS Files

The matchmedia created by MOSS (ZIP file) must be uploaded after the match within 24 hours.

All users are asked to upload their MOSS files with correct names ( there is not a particular syntax but Admins must be able to recognize them from the media name ). Protest or Support tickets due to a violation of this rule are not allowed. An admin can give penalty points in favour of a wrong sign.

Matchmedias are to be kept for at least 14 days in order to be presented to a player, or an admin at request.

2.2.1.3. Missing MOSS Files

If a player does not upload his file within 24 hours, he will be penalized with 3 Penalty Points and his team with 2 Penalty Points (a team can get a maximum of 4 penalties per match for missing MOSS files).

Any violations in Go4Crossfire Cup will be punished with a default win to the opponent team.

If the missing file is uploaded within 2 days and a support is opened, the penalties will be reduced to 1.

This infractions will lead to match deletion.

2.2.1.4. Faked MOSS Files

An archive created by MOSS can't be faked without consequences and without track. A faked MOSS archive (removed/modified screens, removed/modified log etc) will lead the user to 6 Penalty Points added to his account and 6 Penalty Points added to his team in case of team match.

This infractions will lead to match deletion.

2.2.1.5. Checking MOSS Files

It's possible for all users to check opponents' archived . The file checker is built in MOSS itself so everyone will be able to check if the archive has been modified or manipulated. The Admin team will check if all MOSS files have been uploaded in a match. It's up to players to check their opponents' archives and open a support if something weird is present in screens.

2.3. Gameaccounts

The gameaccount, that has to be inserted into player's profile, is the nickname showed in game. In order to allow each player taking part to available competitions, a Crossfire Europe gameaccount is needed.

The gameaccount can be entered in the profile settings by clicking on Gameaccounts (direct link). It is not allowed to state a new gameaccount in the match reports before you play a match. If you still do it, you’ll risk getting penalized for it. You’re also only allowed to change the gameaccount once per week. If you change it, you need to send an ingame screenshot of your new game account.

Programs and macros that provide an advantage during game play (e.g. drivers that allow the removing of walls, single shot macros, etc.) are forbidden. 4.2. Player Drops

If a player drops before the any type of damage has been made in the first round, the match will be restarted. If a player drops after damage has been made, the round has to be finished and the team can request a pause. The same happens for breaks, restarting the same round depending on previous condition.

4.3. Pause

It’s possible to call a pause once per half. The pause rule allows a 10 minute break. After that period of time the game has to be resumed, no matter if the issue got fixed or not. If one team refuses to resume the game, the oppose team will receive a default win.

Team that takes the break is also obligated to announce it in the game chat at the end of the round or at the beginning of the new round before any damage is made. If damage is made, round has to be played and break takes no effect for that round.

Team that takes the break will also be obligated to leave the room.

When the announcement is done, team will have to upload the proof of the break (in the chat) and the score in the match media.

4.8. Illegal Actions

Any actions that result in an unfair advantage are illegal. This includes bug using of any kind and the following actions. If you do have questions about legal/illegal positions, please write a support ticket (subject: Map bugs).

4.8.1. Abortion of a match

If your opponent should deliberately leave during a match, you must make a protest. You must not enter a result yourself. This may be penalized as entering a fake result. Should the game have advanced to a point at which an evaluation of the result is possible, a win may be granted to the remaining team. The decision whether a match can be evaluated or not is in each case decided by the responsible Admin.

4.8.2. Fakers/Ringers

A ringer is a player, who is playing a match for another player. In special cases there may be barrages up to four weeks. Fakes are matches which haven't been played correctly (e.g. a match has been lost on purpose to gain the opponent more points). Such actions are illegal and will lead to penalties.

4.9. Forbidden Programs

Each game or controls configuration, graphic or display modification that can’t be done through the ingame options menu is not allowed. All changes of the game’s graphics and/or textures with graphic card drivers/other tools to change the graphic configuration or such programs are strictly forbidden and lead to 6 penalty points or a cheating barrage depending on the severity. Any program that might be regarded as taking effect on registry is prohibited and can cause up to 4 penalty points for players, 3 penalty points for the team and a match deletion.

Breaking this rule will result in 1 penalty point for the responsible player and 1 penalty points for the responsible team and a lost round each time the rule is broken. Excessive breaking of this rule however, can result in match deletion and/or barrage as will be decided by the responsible admin.

4.13. Bug / Glitch usage

Bug/Glitch using is not allowed when the game is not meant to be played like that. (e.g the so called Chinese Walk)

Any player who is found using any relevant bug ( known or not), will be penalised for bug using at admin's discretion (the responsible admin can decide in every instance whether the bug is relevant or not ). A clear demo of bug using is often necessary in this case to demonstrate the opponent team/player exploited a game bug on purpose.

Breaking this rule will result in 1 penalty point for the responsible player and 1 penalty points for the responsible team each time the rule is broken. Excessive breaking of this rule however, can result in match deletion and/or barrage as will be decided by the responsible admin.

Known exceptions:

  • Jumps and two-man-boosts/stacks are allowed, unless they change the visibility of a players or make them unreachable for the enemy.
  • "Stacking" is allowed with up to 2 player's.

Situations coming from the use of stated exceptions can still be in conflict with the basics of this rule and are punishable accordingly.

5. Results

Both participants are responsible to enter the correct result. If anything is unclear, participants should have screenshots available to verify the result and file a protest.

6. Timetable / Protest for cheating

If you have any suspicion of cheating in a game, feel free to open a protest. You have to create a timetable, that admins can better watch the replays.

A timetable has to contain following information:

  • Nick and account link of the player
  • Name or description of the specific cheat used
  • Download link and name of demo (e.g. 3on3int_ct.dem)
  • Specific times of the demo which look suspicious, along with a reason for each (e.g. why it cannot have been coincidence, luck, hearing or skill)

7. Penalty Point Catalogue

In general, a player and the team can receive up to 6 penalty points per match, unless a single violation has a higher punishment. A team is only punished once per violation, regardless of how many players. Where a player or team receives penalty points for multiple violations, the penalty points are added together.
