How to participate: World Championship Qualifiers
This survival guide was created to share all the necessary information you need to know about how to participate in the Clash of Clans World Championship Qualifiers. Please read through and follow this guide, so when the time comes the only thing you will need to pay attention is the games.
Before going into any specific, first, you’ll have to meet the following requirements.
Check by Supercell
The sign up will be closed 6 days before (at 12:00 CEST) the qualifier starts and all the clans/players will be checked by Supercell to exclude the teams who violated Supercell's Terms of Service.
ESL Play is hosting several tournaments, for a number of games. Clash of Clans is one of them. In order to participate in these tournaments, you have to create an account on the website. To do that, simply head to this page and register. If you already have an account head here to log in.
Note: It is mandatory for everyone in your team to create an account.
Create a team
This step only applies to one player per team. This player is the team leader.
After all of your team members have created their accounts, it's time to create a team. To do that, visit the “Your teams” page. Click the yellow “Create team” button on the top right, choose a team name and click “Create team” again on the right side of the text field.
After your team has been created you will be immediately redirected to your team profile. As you can see, you are the only one in the team yet, so let's go ahead and invite your teammates.
If you scroll down a little, you’ll find a link to the “Team control center”. After clicking it, a text field with an invite link shall appear in the middle of the page. Copy that and send it to your teammates.
Since you can only participate in the World Championship if your town hall is level 13, we must check if you are eligible. Therefore, we need you to attach your Clash of Clans account to your profile. When attaching it, the system will perform a check via the Clash of Clans API to confirm your town hall level.
To attach your Clash of Clans account please follow these steps:
Note: All of your team members will have to do this as well!
Public Clan War Logs
The website is only able to close the matches you have played automatically, if your clan’s war log is set to public. Therefore you will only be eligible if you have it set the right way. You can find this setting at your clan profile in-game by clicking the “Edit” button.
Please note that Samsung Flow was used for the purpose of these recordings. Software such as Samsung Flow, or any other software that lets you control the game from your PC is not allowed during tournaments. For more info read the rulebook of the competition.
Signing up for the qualifiers
Once your team is assembled and everyone is ready, the team’s leader or co-leader can sign you up for the tournament. To do that, please head over to the portal page and choose a qualifier. Once you're on the qualifier page, click the yellow “Sign up” button on the right side of the page. If your team meets the requirements, you’ll shortly be accepted for the qualifier. You’ll have to do this step for each qualifier you wish to participate in.
Sending / Receiving the friendly war challenge
Each clan has 15 minutes to send/accept the friendly war invite. In case a team does not show up in the time period mentioned above, they automatically become subject of disqualification.
Sending the challenge
As the team on the left side of the match page, your team is responsible for sending the friendly war challenge. Use the clan # to look up your opponents in-game and hit the “Challenge” button on their clan page. Select the participants according to your team on ESL Play. After having set the Preparation (15 minutes) and Battle periods (1 hour) successfully, you're ready to send the Challenge.
Receiving the challenge
As the team on the right side of the match page, all you need to do is wait for the Challenge. Please always check whether the Preparation and Battle periods are set correctly. If they are not, please contact your opponents before rejecting the challenge and work on a solution. If you are having trouble solving this issue, please head over to the Protest page and let the admin team know.
Upon receiving the challenge, you shall select the participants of your team on ESL Play for the clan war and start the war.
In case a team on the right side doesn't receive an invitation, they must initiate the invitation. If the invitation is not being accepted, the team on the right side is obliged to fill a protest ticket.
Selecting a war base
In friendly wars, you can use any of your bases. Therefore you’ll have to select your base every time in the preparation period. You can select your desired base for the friendly war at the right side in the clan war section. Make sure to hit save after selecting a layout!
Please note this tutorial was made with TH12 accounts, the tournament however has to be played with TH13 accounts.
During the war
Please note, that during the war you can only attack once. Teams performing more than 1 attack per player automatically become subject of disqualification. In case your opponents attacked more than once per player, please open a protest ticket with a screenshot as an evidence.
