5on5 Obliteration TestCup #1
After last weeks Patch release a new version of Obliteration Competitive was released too. It is time to give this mode another Test. We will test some basic settings and maps on this mode. We will send the feedback directly over to Dice so grab your partners in crime, sign up and help us to further develop this mode. Read this news to get all important information!
We LOVE Obliteration
What changed since the last release?With the Patch from 30.09.2014 alot changed in BF4 not just in Obliteration Competitive. The full Patchlog you can check out at Battlelog. Here an short overview about the changes made on Obliteration competitive:
• Reduced radar sweep on home bases to 40 meters.
• Bomb does not have to be planted in a sequence anymore.
• Reduced the time it takes to plant a bomb from 10 to 8 seconds.
• Raised Obliteration Bomb icon over the bomb carrier's head.
• The Bomb Carrier is not fully spotted all the time
• Last known postion of Bomb Carrier only every 10 seconds displayed
• Reduced the combat area on Operation Locker based on player feedback.
• Reduced the combat area on Golmund Railway and tweaked the spawn points.
• Fixed bomb out of bounds on Golmund Railway.
• Blocked pipe access to rooftops on Zavod 311.
• Reduced the combat area on Zavod 311.

Serversettings and RulesThe basic rules will be very easy for the beginning. We reduce the MCOM's needed to be destroyed in one round from 3 to 2 and we will set a timelimit to 15minutes each round. 2 rounds will be played each match. The basic ruleset for weapon and gadget usage will be taken from our 5on5 Domination rule set. We may change it later on and test some new configurations in a second TestCup. For now we just want to test the basic environment of Obliteration Competitive.

To change the maps to the Obliteration Competitive Layout enter this command before change to an Obliteration map: vars.isCompetitive True
Overtime SettingWith Obliteration competitive we need an Ovetime Setting like you maybe already know it from CS:GO in case for a draw. We will differentiate 2 basic rules for cases of draws.
If both Teams managed to destroy 2 MCOM's on each side the Team will win which destroyed the MCOM's faster, in a shorter time period. You can check just the screens of the Scroboards at the round end and see which Team was faster by checking how much time was left at the round end. This option will be called "Stopwatch".
1-1 or 0-0 draw:
It is more difficult to play after Stopwatch option here, since Teams have to make everytime a screenshot when an MCOM was destroyed so the timelimit can be seen. We will use here a normal Overtime mode. Both Teams play again with a timelimit of 5 minutes each side. Again 2 rounds will be played. In case of a another draw in this Overtime, Teams play as long with those settings until one Team finally wins.
Please keep in mind that those settings are for now the basics. Based on your feedback and later on some polls those settings can of course change!
