UPDATE: SHA-2 Code Signing live
At the end of 2016 Microsoft will drop support for SHA-1 certificates, thus we'll need to switch ESL Anticheat to the SHA-2 standard. Later versions of Windows (8.1 & 10) already support SHA-2 per default, however if you're running Windows 7 you will need to have the latest updates installed.

UPDATE: SHA-2 switch done!

We've switched to SHA-2 Code Signing on 09.03.2016 12:00 CET. If you encounter any issues please make sure you have the necessary updates installed, for details check the information below. If you still encounter issues after updating please let us know in the comments or in our forums

How to enable SHA-2 support

If you are running Windows 7 you'll need to install the Microsoft Security Advisory 3033929 to make your system support SHA-2 Code Signing.

You might need to install additional Windows 7 Security updates before being able to apply the SHA-2 patch. The easiest solution is to simply install all Windows 7 updates available through the Windows update function!

Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 do not require this update because SHA-2 signing and verification functionality is already included in these operating systems.

You can find a detailed Microsoft timeline for the end of SHA-1 certificate here.

We advise you to always have the latest updates for your system installed!

Your fix is not working , thanks for your dev team we had disqualified because of this bad software..

This is not "our fix", this is a Windows fix. We don't have any influence on this at all.
Besides that, if this linked Windows patch is not working for you, you are most likely on a Windows 7 version pre Service Pack 1. That is software that hasn't been updated for over 6 years, basically you're inviting people to steal everything on your pc as this software has more holes than Swiss cheese...
Gotta love ESL Wire! xD
Same shit for me aswell.

I'm with 8.1 pro and lastest update (I took the good fix) , your software is just a shame.

And your Anticheat session worked just fine, so no need to complain about that.

Of course! The error 577 came like a magical pink unicorn
quaKe wrote:

No it doesn't come like "magical pink unicorn". It does pop up because your (or the person you're talking about) operating system doesn't support SHA-2 code signing.
SHA-2 code signing is being enforced by Microsoft, as you can read here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/32288.windows-enforcement-of-authenticode-code-signing-and-timestamping.aspx (this link is also in the news).
There is literally nothing we can do about this, we need to adapt to this change.

So if you need anyone to blame, either blame Microsoft or blame whoever runs outdated Microsoft software on his PC and therefore gets this error.
David I know that Microsoft is bad too..

I'm 30 y/o and I lead a little company who develop some professionals software , so I'm not agree with you.
When our software are bugging with Microsoft we make a fix , it's not to our customers to find a solution.

You have to do with Microsoft , your software have to work with Microsoft and it's not to Microsoft to work with your software.

I know it's difficult to satisfy customers but it's not to customers to find a solution , only you have to do this.
Then you should be aware of the reasons why code signing in general is useful and why Microsoft enforces it and why there is no "legal" way around it.

Of course there are ways around this, but as mentioned above they are not legal since they are exploits that modify your system in a way it shouldn't be modified. So this is simply not an option we can take.

I totally agree that software needs to be designed in a way that it satisfies the customer, but at this point we are simply limited and bound to the standard enforced by Microsoft.
You are using VB2008 libraries for esl wire it's probably for that reason you have some problems

I'm actually not sure if you're just posting here to troll or don't know what you're talking about.

No, it's not related to VB libraries, it's simply related to the fact that Microsoft enforces SHA-2 (SHA256) code signing for device drivers like ESL Anticheat is.

Please read http://www.davidegrayson.com/signing/ to get a grasp on code signing and read https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/security/3033929.aspx and https://www.globalsign.com/en/blog/microsoft-announces-updates-sha-1-code-signing-policy/ to understand what consequences their switch from SHA-1 to SHA-2 code signing have.

I'm not trolling I just wanna find a solution..

You had to test your software before if it's working with SHA1 and SHA2.
After research this problem is recuring with Win7.
It's not to customers to find a solution to play with ESL WIRE.
We have to play with ESL Wire in competition (and it's a good solution for cheaters I'm agree) so you have to test and fix it!
I'm sorry to saying that but it's not our problem (customers) it's only problem of dev.
Read the news, read my comments, read the links i posted and you will find the solution.
I ever read all!

Is all dev germans work like this?!

It's not to customers to fix this , you have to fix it by a new update of your software :@
Take exemple from ESEA -_-
Hello
i got this problem yesterday,
Like said quake it's not to a customers to find a solution to fix something developpers should have verified before make a change or release updates.
I was in sofware dev before for insdutry, and when we made a change any changes (big or little) before release the update we made all verifications and fix any issues or bug we found.
Sometimes customers can have some issues we didn't see before the relase but after that we make all fixes needed.
We never told to a customer:
"have this issue read this link and find by yourself"
in my opinion it's not professional.
Honestly it's not that hard to understand, so one final time:

- Microsoft did a change for YOUR operating system!
- This change can only be applied by YOU!
- There is no way around this change in a legal way!
- We as a company need to apply the law! (If that's not common sense)
- Even if you feel like we need to solve this: We are not Microsoft, we cannot!
- Even if you dig up stories from your work: We are not Microsoft, we cannot!
- Even if you try to tell us how we should release our updates: We are not Microsoft, we cannot!
- Even if you start standing on your head: there is no way around this!

So if you have any complaints about the changes done by Microsoft please direct your complaints their way.

If you can't understand this simple fact, i can't help you! If you don't want to understand it, i can't help you.

If you keep on bringing up delusional stories on how we should fix changes done by Microsoft, i'll from now on assume you're trolling and hence delete these posts.

Have a nice evening.
CEVO / ESEA Don't have this problem... Considering ESL brought out ESEA... Kinda odd one AC will work fine with 7 and the other will not.

They will have the same issue within this year when their SHA-1 certificate ends, latest end of the year as you can read here: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/32288.windows-enforcement-of-authenticode-code-signing-and-timestamping.aspx
Microsoft wrote:
Effective January 1, 2016, Windows (version 7 and higher) and Windows Server will no longer trust new code that is signed with a SHA-1 code signing certificate for Mark-of-the-Web [This link is external to TechNet Wiki. It will open in a new window.] related scenarios (e.g. files containing a digital signature) and that has been time-stamped with a value greater than January 1, 2016. This cut-off date applies to the code-signing certificate itself.

This restriction will not apply to the time-stamp certificate used to time-stamp the code-signing certificate or the certificate’s signature hash (thumbprint) until January 1, 2017. After this time, Windows will treat any code with a SHA-1 time-stamp or SHA-1 signature hash (thumbprint) as if the code did not have a time-stamp signature.

Nice deleted message , this is how you fix problems?
i cant install the fixx
i become a error "the update is not applicated to your computer"
The patch only works on windows that has a legit key, if you have a illegal install of windows, this with either not install or install and on a reboot will stop windows from booting, and you will need to install a legit copy of windows.

Please update your windows in general at first. So make sure you have SP1 installed. Then update the SHA-2 Code Signing.

Why does ESL Wire freeze PC on csgo?
Why does ESL Wire freeze PC on csgo?
Why does ESL Wire freeze PC on csgo?
esl wire anti cheat error code -39
i don't understand pls help me
Isnt it about time for ESL to make an update for the bugged version of esl wire instead of making every single one of us fixing the multiple errors we get?
¿Porque no sacan esa aplicacion en android? Lo digo porque no tengo ordenador como algunas personas, haber si pueden sacar para el movil el ESL anticheat.
YOU as a company SUX! Putting ESL wire is one of the biggest mistakes you HAVE EVER made in the whole gaming carriere. And your softawer is broken anyway, because on it cheats are still possible + its not working as it should. And now this bullshit with SHA-2,which is making me to install windows 8 or windows 10 ,just so i can "use" ESL Wire, well no thx. Because for some reason i cant install that update on my Windows7 ,since its saying "This update is not applicable to your computer". Its really retarded that if you want to play ESL you need to have w8 or w10. And before this you had to have w7... So that means your program SUX!

You absolutely can run it with Windows 7, i do so myself and so do many others.
If you can't install the patch linked in the news it simply means you're running a completely outdated version of Windows 7. So you're missing Service Pack 1 (which btw. has been released 7 years ago) and following updates for Windows 7.

Bring your installation of Windows 7 up2date, which you should do anyway for security reasons, and you'll be good to go.

cheers,
David
Dear Esl,

your program after few minutes stop work and "crash" (not always)! I have Windows 10 pro 64bit OS! I have reinstall many times your program, sometimes when game end or until map vote end your program stop responding and close instant !!
